September 23, 2019, Kailua, HI. The annual “Give Aloha” Campaign of Foodland and Western Union Foundation in Hawaii started September 1st to continue the legacy of founder, Maurice “Sully” Sullivan of giving back to the community. Sully’s Foundation matches individual contributions, dollar for dollar, up to $249. Foodland gives more than $250,000 annually to non-profits that participate in the program.
For the second time in a row, ALSFH signed up to participate in the program. To donate to ALSFH, one simply needs to go to a Foodland store. At the check-out counter, tell the cashier you would like to donate to ALSFH, #78937. The cashier will ask you for your Maikai card. If you don’t have one, they can create one for you. And if you don’t remember the ALSFH number, just ask to see a copy of the listing of all participating non-profits. Remember to ask for your receipt and check to see, if indeed, the proper amount and the ALSFH name are printed on it. This becomes your receipt for tax-deduction purposes.
To generate interest in the campaign for matching ALSFH donations in the campaign, volunteers Alexa-Rae Telan and Darlene Dumlao, helped Divina put together a campaign video, which was posted on Facebook earlier this month.
Foodland will track all customer donations to all participating charities until the end of the month. All donations and Foodland’s matching amount will be given to the charities on October 31. Foodland’s matching gift is divided proportionately among all participating non-profits based on customer donations to the organizations.
So let’s hele on to Foodland, and make that donation for ALSFH before September 30! Much mahalo for your support!
And much mahalo, Foodland, for this generous gift to our community!
