As part of community outreach and promotion of ALS Awareness, ALSFH President Divina Telan Robillard presented at two separate events yesterday, October 13. The Philippine Nurses Association-Hawaii has been holding a community outreach program of a total 10 classes, every Saturday, on different aspects of heart care entitled “Healthy Heart, Healthy Family” program, starting last  October 6 at the St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church in Mililani.  Robillard presented on “Get Energized: Exercises for a Healthy Heart,” which included a 25-minute exercise video that can be modified to fit all skill and age levels.

Robillard also presented on the same topic, later in the afternoon, as part of United Caregivers of Hawaii, a new organization of foster home and adult care home administrators. The presentation was geared toward the home’s clients as well as their caregivers.  It was held at the campus of the United Church of Christ in Waipahu.  About fifty caregivers participated in the quarterly inservice training as part of their continuing education and licensure requirement.

Class attendees follow the exercise video commands.

In both presentations, Robillard discussed the mission of ALSFH and the upcoming bowling benefit event at the Pali Lanes on November 10.
