The Annual “With Grace” Run/walk was canceled this year. Julie Hess, coordinator of the annual event, replaced it with an online Shirt Fundraiser on CustomInk, which will continue until May 16. “There are five different styles of shirts,” enthused Julie,” We originally set a goal of 50 purchases. I am happy to see that we have exceeded the goal. Mahalo to everyone who has helped. It means so much to my family as well as to Jeff’s.”

Steve and Julie Hess had involved their family as well as many friends in their campaign since seven years ago when it started. They have dedicated each campaign to Jeff Madelone, a family friend who has had ALS for many years. The annual fun run/walk is named after Jeff’s young daughter Grace. Proceeds from the past campaigns as well as the current T-shirt campaign go to Project ALS, Inc. to aid research for a cure.

The Hess Family’s annual volunteerism for pALS is an attitude that needs to be applauded and encouraged in our communities.  Mahalo for helping them continue surpassing their goal.
