ALSFH President Divina Telan Robillard recently visited Cheryl Kellett in the family home in Kalihi in reply to husband, Mel’s request for respite help. In a phone conversation earlier today, Bristol Hospice RN Sheena Erice said that Cheryl passed away from natural causes on September 26, three days after Robillard posted about the visit. ALSFH’s  next fundraiser is a bowl-athon in Kailua Pali Lanes bowling alley in early November. The 3-person Board is currently discussing details with the bowling alley management.  The ALSFH fundraiser, tentatively set for November 10, will give local residents a chance to play in the Pali Lanes in a community-led fundraiser before its demolition  in early 2019. Foodland’s Give Aloha Program Ends; ALSFH Thanks Donors

Foodland’s month-long Give Aloha 2018 Program has just ended.  The annual program usually begins and ends in September.  ALSFH joined the more than 300 other non-profits that have registered as recipients of this popular, local philanthropy of the Sullivan family.  The program promises to match each donor’s contribution up to $249. After an acute episode of pneumonia, Cheryl Kellett decided to leave the nursing home.  She wanted to spend the last days of her life at home in the care of a hospice team. Her family supported her decision.
