Joyce Okahashi and I worked with Kathleen Hurtubise-Lin, then Muscular Dystrophy Association-Hawaii Executive Director, to set up the first ALS Support Group. January 20, 2019, Kailua, HI. The 30th Legislative session opened on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. At 10 AM, the program within the stately Senate floor started with Temporary Chair, Senator Kaiali Kahele (District 1-Hilo) pounding the gavel and calling the Senate to order.
